Our Philosophy
We believe localization is not translation. It's performance. AI can copy a voice. It cannot carry the soul of a story. We grew up with dubbed anime and films that moved us — and we know exactly what a living voice can do to an audience. Every person on our team is a performer. That's not a coincidence. It's the foundation of everything we do. We don't hand scripts to readers. We trust them with actors — native speakers who feel the language, live the culture, and deliver every line as if they wrote it themselves. That's the difference. And your audience will feel it.
The Team

Masaya Okubo
Founder & CEO · Actor, Voice Actor, Samurai Performer
Localization Director · Actress, Interpreter
Liana Kurogi
Mai Nishioka
Localization Director · Musical theatre actor, Creative Producer, vocal coach
Masaya built this company on a single conviction: that performance is the soul of great localization. As a New York-based actor, voice actor, and samurai performer, he brings the instincts of a working performer to every creative decision — someone who has stood in front of an audience, earned their attention, and knows exactly what it takes to keep it.
Liana understands that language is more than words; it's culture, emotion, and intention. Having built her career across theater, voiceover, and interpretation, she has developed a deep sensitivity to how meaning shifts between languages. At Diversity Voice Studio, she helps ensure that localized dialogue feels natural, authentic, and emotionally true to its audience.
Mai moves easily between two worlds of performance: New York and Tokyo. Her musical theatre career includes Miss Saigon and annual showcases at Carnegie Hall, and she founded TIAM Productions, a Japanese company dedicated to arts and education. At Diversity Voice Studio, she draws on that cross-cultural network to lead international voice talent and dubbing projects.
The Voice Behind the Studio
Before building Diversity Voice Studio, Masaya spent years in the recording booth — not managing it.
His credits span Google Japan, YouTube, Netflix, Minecraft, Microsoft, Gucci, Audi, Amazon, and Panasonic. He has voiced characters in Caillou's New Adventure across Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube. His work extends to PlayStation 5 titles, and his museum audio guides have been heard in Barcelona, Oslo, Salzburg, and León.
He currently serves as the lead Japanese voice talent for one of YouTube's most-watched English-language channels — a partnership that has been ongoing for over a year.
He is a two-time award winner — Bronze at the 2022 Clio Awards and Best Internet Commercial at the 2022 LA American Advertising Awards — and has served as a judge for the Voice Arts Awards (Japanese Language Category) since 2023.
This is not a studio run by businesspeople who manage voice talent. It is built by a working voice actor who understands, from the inside, what performance-driven localization actually demands.
